Home Ground project in Omārōrō Newtown!

Newtown community workshops are coming up!


Every Thursday, 9:30-11:30am, Feb 15 - March 21st 2024


​Our workshops are an opportunity for wāhine to try out different art forms with different artists, and other women. Participants will learn more about themselves and the creative process. Home Ground is a creativity and wellbeing programme for women who are in the justice system. Each programme uses creative arts practice, such as photography, creative writing, movement and music, as a non-threatening, strengths-based approach to self-empowerment, community connectedness and wellbeing. Newtown Park Apartments, 320 Mansfield Street, Newtown, Wellington WHEN The project starts on Thursday 15th February, 9:30am. We work from 9:30-11:30am every Thursday. The project finishes at 11:30pm, on Thursday 21st March 2024. WHO There are spaces available for 10 women. The project is facilitated by the Home Ground team. There will be guest artists and peer mentors in the space as well. ​​
